Indra’s knowledge of food has spanned over 50 years, 40 of those years working in the food industry. This has been gained working with food professionals, artisans, writers and individuals keen to prepare a tasty meal at home. She has also used her culinary skills to help raise money for charities.
Indra has been one of the longest-serving teachers for the YWCA, successfully conducting classes for more than 30 years. She now resides in Sri Lanka and visits Hong Kong twice a year just to conduct her much in demand cooking classes at the Y.
Indra conducts popular cooking classes in UK and is a food consultant to hotels, clubs, restaurants and successfully orgnized food promotions in UK & Hongkong. Indra has authored cookery books " A Taste of Sri Lanka" & " Taste of Paradise".
Her students learn not only about the dishes they cook but also enhance their knowledge on exotic spice mixtures and herbs. Her mission is not only to teach someone how to cook authentic Asian dishes, but to share tips and use her life experience to demonstrate how spices can be combined effectively, and how they are used in the home kitchen of their native countries.
